Tandara is NOT going to like this! LOL!
First of all, we’re so excited to her on Brazil’s final roster for the 2011 World Cup. She’s been a great substitute for Sheilla Castro this year and also we think Coach Ze made a better choice adding her to the team over Joycinha.
Tandara is young and powerful. In case you didn’t know, she was the player who scored the final point during the Pan Am Games 5-set gold medal match against Cuba. For sure, that strong attack which almost hit the Cuban libero in the face has given the a much needed confidence boost in time for the 2011 World Cup.
Back to the headline “When Tandara Becomes Adenizia“…
The FIVB just released this article about Tandara who will be making first World Cup appearance at the age of 22. “Tandara is a young player of 23 years old that is having a more effective chance this year,” Zé Roberto explained. “She has a great potential of attacking, blocking and also serves really well. She also practices reception to improve in all the fundamentals. She has helped the national team a lot this season, doing really well during the matches. Tandara does not fell the tough moments of the game.” says Coach Ze Guimaraes.
BUT! BUT! BUT! The picture used in this FIVB article is NOT Tandara! Someone needs to contact the FIVB and let them know they used Adenizia’s picture instead.
It’d be great to see a pic of Tandara in the article since it’s a major major press release.
Before we forget, Brazil’s final roster includes the following talented & injury proned players:
Setters: Dani Lins, Fabíola
Opposites: Sheilla, Tandara
Outside Hitters: Mari, Paula Pequeno, Fernanda Garay, Sassá
Middle Blockers: Fabiana, Thaisa, Adenizia, Juciely
Liberos: Fabi and Camila Brait
Like we’ve said before, Brazil or USA can win the gold. In case you didn’t know, Brazil won the bronze in 1999, silvers in 2003 and 2007.
