They can do it!
Poland is no doubt the top favorite to win Olympic Gold after a solid and gold medal performance at the 2012 World League.
We don’t even know where to start because Coach Anastasi’s team is composed of young and talented players. There’s the blue eyed Michal Winiarski, who is the team’s silent leader. There’s 2012 World League MVP Bartosz Kurek, the crowd pleaser Zbigniew Bartman, 2 of the world’s best middle blockers Mozdzonek and Nowakowski and the small but reliable libero Ignaczak.
Oops! We almost forgot the intense Michal Kubiak.
The following 12 players will represent Poland at the 2012 London Olympics:
Setters: Pavel Zagumny, Lukasz Zygadlo
Middle Blockers: Piotr Nowakowski, Marcin Mozdzonek, Grzegorz Kosok
Opposite Hitters: Zbigniew Bartman, Jakub Jarosz
Outside Hitters: Bartosz Kurek, Michael Winiarski, Michal Ruciak, Michal Kubiak
Libero: Krzysztof Ignaczak
Poland joins Italy, Argentina, Bulgaria, Australia and host Great Britain in Pool 4. The top 4 teams after the preliminary round advance to the Quarterfinal Rounds.
We really hope Poland can handle the pressure as the top favorite.
