Easy boys, easy.
In an article released by blokaut.net, Volleywood’s “Mr. Bad Boy” Alexey Spiridonov said that Italian coach Mauro Berruto is a “lunatic” (an informal term referring to people who are considered mentally ill, dangerous, foolish or unpredictable; conditions once called lunacy. The term may be considered insulting in serious contexts, though is sometimes used in friendly jest.)
This is all started during the World League match between Russia and Italia over the weekend. Italy won the first match 3-1 behind the amazing Ivan Zaytsev but lost an epic 5 set match in their next duel.
During the second match, players and coaching staff from both teams exchanged heated words which prompted the referee to issue a yellow card for Italian setter Dragan Travica and Spiridonov.
Post match interview:
“I would like to congratulate the Russian team. It was a very good meeting. I respect Russian players, I respect their country. However, I do not respect a man sitting at the table (referring to Andrey Voronkov) and I’m not going to stay next to a man who insults me.“ -Coach Mauro Berruto
“This man is related to the volleyball for long time, he has some methods to influence people and a diploma in psychology. The Italians wanted to get as many points in tha match with our team, sometimes using different deceptive tricks. On my part, there were no insults.“ -Coach Andrey Voronkov,
“The coach of the Italian team behaved outrageously. The man is a lunatic, if anyone wants to ask me. He walks very emotionally and practically arguing all the time. Even when the challenge system showed that we were right, Berruto still insisted on his own.“ -Alexey Spiridonov.
The good thing is that both teams will no longer meet during the Intercontinental Round but if they both make it to the Final Round then expect another war.
As long as no one gets hurt, let the show begin!
