It’s great to see Piccinini back in better shape after a forgettable 2011 season with the National Team!
Queen Picci led her Italian club team, Bergamo, to win the 2011/2012 edition of one of the most prestigious tourneys in the Italian League, the Supercoppa!
It wasn’t an easy match for Bergamo. Their strong opponents from Ville Cortese, led by American setter Lindsey Berg and Canadian opposite Sarah Pavan, displayed a great performance but in the end lost a hearbreaking 5th set.

We admit that we had doubts on how Bergamo would do this season after Lo Bianco and Ortolani left the team to play for other club teams. The former went to Turkey to to play for Galatasaray while the latter joined Pesaro.
Aside from Picci’s performance, we also want to give her teammate Vasileva for a superb performance. Picci scored 21 while Vasileva led Bergamo with 22 points. Of course, Bergamo’s other players and Coaching Staff also deserve a big congratulations from all of us!
Before we forget, we also want to commend Valentina Arrighetti! The middle blocker has improved so much and she’s definitely one of the best middles in the world right now,
