To be more specific and more accurate, the first set between USA and Italy was the highest scoring set in World Cup history! The score was won by Italy with a score of 41-39. Epic!
We watched the entire set and it was a great exchange of power and skills. In the end, a more consistent Italy prevailed who was led by Cristian Savani. We think Savani played his best World Cup match so far. He’s been on and off. Italy also relied on Michal Lasko who is the tournament’s top scorer. On the other hand, USA had a good run in this set led by Priddy, Stanley and Anderson.
