A new start indeed for the 2008 Olympic gold medalist…
Since losing her baby with Murilo, we could not fathom what she went through. So she took her time to heal and to understand why it had to happen.
On her miscarriage:
“I think that nothing happens by chance and I really believe that something good will happen not only for me but for all people who are in distress. Now here is to think ahead and leave behind what happened. I’ll let life take me.”
“When I became pregnant my plans were different, but from the time of the loss, I have new plans.”
After leaving Sollys Osasco, Jaque was supposed to play for Sesi, a new Brazilian women’s club team, but her contract was dissolved when she got pregnant. Sesi hired Sassa instead which left Jaqueline without a team for next season. She received offers to play in Europe but declined she’d want to stay in Brazil to be with her husband.
Due to the “player point system” in the Brazilian League, Jaque’s only choice was Sollys Osasco. After some talks, Osasco finally opened their doors again to the MVP of the 2009/2010 edition of the Superliga.
“I have resumes my training. I am very focused and thinking about the new season with Sollys and the 2012 Olympics. These are my goals at this point. I will devote as much and give my best.”
With new players on the team, Jaque remains optimistic for the upcoming season.
“Working with people who I already know and lived is certainly super important. Although the cast is new, the group is really cool and I hope that this year is different. This group is being formed to win and hopefully it will be very successful”.
