The men’s and women’s team have some up and coming stars from Germany!
Noticeably missing on the rosters are Christiane Furst (retired from NT) and Gyorgy Grozer (who always takes some time off after a long pro season in Russia).
Germany women’s and men’s Volleyball coaches Luciano Pedullà and Vital Heynen have nominated their teams for the Baku 2015 European Games. Both coaches announced the names of 22 players to the German Olympic officials but only 14 from each team will eventually participate at the Baku 2015 European Games. Both teams feature a mix of experienced and young players.
Male players Tomas Kocian, Falko Steinke, Leonhard Tille and Phillip Trenkler as well as women’s player Juliane Langgemach have never worn the German national team jersey before. On the other hand, 10 players from the German men’s team that won bronze at the 2014 FIVB Volleyball World Championship were named to the Baku 2015 provisional roster. And Pedullà named 11 players who won silver at the 2013 CEV Volleyball European Championship – Women.
Both German teams have been drawn into tough groups at Baku 2015 as Heynen’s men will take on Russia, Italy, Bulgaria, Belgium and Slovakia. Pedullà’s women will play against Russia, Serbia, Netherlands, Bulgaria and Croatia.
