Being “traditional minded” is not a bad thing at all.
In article released by olympics.nbcsports.com, April Ross compares the system she had with former partner Kerri Walsh (2 plays on defense) & with new teammate Lauren Fendrick (7 different defensive plays).
This is what she said:
“Lauren wants to push the boundaries and see what new stuff we can come up with and be more creative on the court. Kerri is a little more traditional minded.”
April also commends Lauren’s blocking skills by calling her one of the best blockers in the world.
In the said article, April also reveals she has not talked to Kerri since their split more than a month ago. If they play against each other at the Porec Open later this month, She has no problem facing Kerri and her new partner Nicole Branagh.
“To be honest, for my entire career, I’ve focused on my side of the net. That’s going to continue to be the case. If we do come up against her, it will be just like any other team out there on the international tour. We are competitors now. She is on a different team now, and I’m on a different team.”
