Players Killed in Mexico
It has been an extremely violent year in Mexico. Over the weekend, a group of masked gunmen started shooting a group of people playing volleyball at a park in Sinaloa state (Culiacan). Violence is NEVER the answer!

This doesn’t look good for Coach Cook & Lauren. The star setter from Nebraska was arrested yesterday on suspicion of leaving the scene of an injury accident and ticketed for driving under suspension after a motorcyclist broke a leg.

Same set of players except one returnee. We really hope they win a medal. The last time Team USA won a major major tournament was the gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics under Coach Hugh McCutcheon.

Former Cuban national team player, Suramys Acosta, is finally in the US of A after her 6th successful attempt to leave Cuba. She is currently the setter on the Sharks volleyball team at Miami Dade College in Florida.

What the eff! Regardless of how terrible your player is, it’s never ok to harass him or her. Whatever she did is just unacceptable! Let there be justice for the 12 yr old player who got slapped! She has lots of explaining to do.
