There’s a Baby Boom in Volleywood!
At first it was Kerri Walsh, then followed by Serbia’s Jelena Nikolic and now Serena Ortolani?

The Italian opposite hitter, who missed the 2012 Olympics, is reportedly pregnant & has resigned from her Italian club team, Robursport Pesaro.
The 25 year old has released this statement:
“Non mi piace parlare della mia vita privata perchè sono una persona riservata che custodisce i suoi affetti come un tesoro, ma mi sento in dovere, per le responsabilità che ho preso nei confronti della società, della squadra e dei tifosi di Pesaro, di comunicare che non potrò essere il vostro capitano quest’anno”.
“Un desiderio fuori programma mi toglie questa possibilità per regalarmene una ancora più grande: quella di diventare mamma! Il mio cuore è pieno di gioia per quello che mi attende ma non riesco a smettere di pensare alla mia squadra, perchè vivo la mia professione con passione e soffro per non poter dfendere i colori biancorossi. Un bacio e… A presto!
Tornerò da mamma a fare ciò per cui sono nata: vivere la mia passione”.
English Translation:
“I do not like to talk about my private life because I’m a very private person that holds its affections as a treasure, but I feel obliged, for the responsibilities I have taken towards the society, the team and the supporters of Pesaro, to communicate that I can not be your captain this year. ”
“An unplanned desire takes me from this opportunity to join an even bigger: that of be a mom! my heart is filled with joy for what awaits me but I can not stop thinking about my team, because I live with passion my profession and suffering for not being able to defend the colors red and white. kisses … See you soon!
I will return as a mom to do what I was born to: live for my passion.”
Serena is pretty much saying that as much as she wanted to keep her personal life private, she feels the need to let her Pesaro family and fans know of the great news. She is excited to become a mother and to see everyone again in the near future.

Rumor has it that her former club coach, Davide Mazzanti, is the father.
