Talking about some major volleyball drama in the Portuguese League!
So last week, SL Benfica defeated Sporting de Espinho in the Best of 3 Finals. SL Benfica won the 1st match, lost the 2nd and finally won the final match in an epic 5 set marathon (25-20, 20-25, 15-25, 25 -22 , 15-13).
BUT…
Sporting de Espinho protested the result stating that Sl Benfica committed an error with its rotation. The costly mistake was caught on video and therefore the Federation orders a rematch!

So they went to tie-break in the final match. When it was 13-13, Espinho served and won the point but with a rotation fault, wrong player served. It was 13-14 to Espinho but then the Ref called the fault so it became 14-13 to Benfica.
Benfica served and won the point. 15-13 to Benfica and they started to celebrate.
Then Espinho realizes that Benfica did the same thing. The wrong player served and they told the ref about it. The ref corrected the mistake and ordered both teams to play from 14-14 but Benfica refused to return to the court. With how it ended and with all the celebration, there was no way for the match to restart.
Espinho protested the match and the Federation ordered a rematch this Sunday, May 12th.
