Congratulations to Siatkówka w O biektywie (www.s-w-o.pl) for a successful auction event! You guys are so amazing and so inspiring! The money raised from this auction will for sure change the lives of many and be able to provide assistance.

The auction generated 7150 zl (€1800) & will be sending 120 packages to those who have purchased the volleyball items. In 3 years, s-w-o.pl has collected 22000 zl (€5500).

Volleyball players are very active in charity! They’re giving away their souvenirs, club’s or national team’s T-shirts, autographed photos and other volleyball gadgets for an auctions. Money collected during these auctions are transferring for Polish charity organisation – The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. The Foundations spends all of collected money for a special medical equipment.

Every year since 1993, Polish charity organisation “Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy” (WOŚP, eng. The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity) is raising money for the special medical equipment which helps children with many kinds of diseases. The equipment is very expensive so a lot of money is needed!

During the upcoming 21th Great Finale of WOŚP (January 13th, 2013), the Foundation will be collecting money for therapies for newborns and for medical equipment for older people. It will be the first edition of WOŚP, when money will be collecting for two purposes.

Polish web page, which is dedicated to volleyball – Siatkówka w Obiektywie (s-w-o.pl) – decided to help WOŚP. In January 2012 they collected loads of gadgets from international volleyball stars, e.g. Łukasz Żygadło, Polish national team setter, Zbigniew Bartman, Polish national team hitter or Giba, captain of Team Brazil! Thanks to the bidding these fantastic souvenirs, they gave 15 000 pln (about 4 000 Euros) to WOŚP.

As it was mentioned earlier, in January 2013 will be organised the 20th Great Finale of WOŚP, that’s why “Siatkówka w Obiektywie” staff is collecting new gadgets related to volleyball. They hopes to break their own record and gain more money for a charity than they did last time. Souvenirs from volleyball stars are very valuable for fans, so there’s a big and unique opportunity to have them and help the newborns in the same time!
