2011 Grand Prix Posters Revealed!

We’re not sure if they are the official posters of the tourney but it doesn’t matter because these posters look FIERCE & FANTASTIC! These pics make us go WOW WOW WEE! 5 of the world’s best players in one picture? Super Like!

From left to right…

Maggie Kozuch (Germany): We love her brave face in this picture but we wanted to see her pretty smile since the rest of the girls look very serious already. Right?  Our rating: 8/10.

Wang Yi Mei (China): Is it really her? She looks different in this pic. Her make-up artist did a great job to make her look even more gorgeous. We love the gloss on her cheeks and of course the hair. Work It Wang! Our Rating: 9.3/10.

Ekaterina Gamova (Russia): We take it that since she’s the best player in the world right now the creator of this poster put her in the middle. Good idea but we don’t like the “look” on her face at all. It’s too boring in our opinion. Maybe they could’ve done something with her hair, like curl it or something. They could’ve added a crown on her head too or something. This is not just the look we expect from Queen Gamova. Our rating: 6/10.

Megan Hodge (USA): Since she’s in this pic, we better see her on the court from start to finish of the tournament and not just after one round (Remember in 2010?). We think that Megan has the most serious look in this pic and we like it actually. That’s all. Our Rating: 9/10.

Manon Flier (The Netherlands): We’re not sure why she’s in this poster at all knowing that Manon and The Netherlands FAILED to qualify in the 2011 World Grand Prix. We know believe that this is the unofficial poster of the event. We still love Manon and in this pic she actually looks like she’s wondering “What am I doing here?” Hahahaha! We kid! We kid! We kid! Our Rating: N/A.

We found another one too but the resolution is smaller but it still looks fierce and fantastic!

From left to right…

Sheilla Castro (Brazil): Why is she all the way in the back? She should be in the middle! The world’s best opposite player deserves the spotlight! Whoever made this poster robbed her. Just saying. Well at least she’s got this We-Won-the-Grand-Prix-So-Many-Times-Already-Look on her face. Our Rating: 9/10.

Destinee Hooker (USA): She could’ve worn her Pesaro uniform for this pic. Hahaha! We Kid! We Kid! We Kid! We must admit that a lot of volley fans are excited to her back with the USA team to defend the title they won last year. We like her “look” in this pic. She’s got this Set-Me-The-Ball-Look on her face and we really expect that she’d be getting lots of sets again this year. Our Rating: 9.3/10 (She got a 9 but we gave her an extra 0.3 for her shoulder bands).

Ekaterina Gamova (Russia): Again? We can now conclude that the creator of these posters is either a BIG Russian fan or maybe Gamova did these herself. Hahahaha!

Saori Kimura (Japan): Our 2010 MVP looks cute as always except for the bangs which almost covers half of her face. We are going to see a stronger Japanese squad this year after winning the bronze medal at the 2010 World Championship. We think the players are more confident under Saori and Takeshita’s leadership. Since she’s the only one holding an accessory, Saori’s rating is 9.5/10.

Joanna Kaczor (Poland): We love Kaczor but we’re not sure what kind of “look” she’s trying to project in this pic. We’re not impressed but we still love her. Our rating: 6/10.

If we’d make a poster for the 2011 Grand Prix, we’d include the following:

  • Cuba: The girls are back after missing the 2009 & 2010 Grand Prix. Kenia Carcases would be the chosen player to represent Cuba.
  • Middle blocker/s: Since these 2 posters only include outside & opposite hitters, we’d definitely put Foluke or Fabiana or Gioli.
  • Italy: We still think they Italy deserves a spot in any poster. Piccinini? Ortolani? Lo Bianco?
  • Libero/s: The most exciting players deserve to be represented! Cardullo? Sano? Sykora?
  • We’d make each player hold a ball with their jersey numbers on it or even a shade of their national flags.
  • Peru: After missing the Grand Prix for so many years, Peru is finally back! We’d put Chihuan or Soto as the team’s representative.
