Bummer! Bummer! Bummer!
USA Volleyball has announced 2 of the cities that will host the Intercontinental Round of the 2011 World League:
June 17th & June 18th, 2011: USA vs Poland in Hoffman Estates in Illinois
June 24th & June 25th: USA vs Brazil in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
We guess they’re still trying to determine the 3rd city.
Anyways, we are a little bummed that the cities are quite far from us and from California, where beach and indoor volleyball are very popular. We hope the 3rd city will be held in the West Coast, like in Seattle or in California. West Coast Represent!

Regardless if we get to watch them live or not, we still wish Team USA the best! Since winning the World League in 2008 with Coach Hugh McCutcheon, their performances in 2009 (6th) and 2010 (8th) were quite forgettable (in our opinion). Also, the US team finished 6th at the World Championship. Not the results we expected from the Olympic Champions.
Hopefully, 2011 will be a year of redemption for Reid Priddy, Clay and the rest of the team.
For your information, the FIVB has extended the number of teams in the Final Round in Poland, from 6 to 8. This change might give Team USA a bigger chance to make it to the Finals unlike last year. Well they have a tougher pool this time around (Brazil and Poland).
We’ll just have to wait and see. So far, we are not impressed with what Coach Knipe has done. Just saying.

If you plan on going to Illinois and/or Oklahoma for these matches, we hope to see you there. If not, then takes lots of pics for us.
Have Fun!

In 2009, a total of 9,315 fans packed the San Jose Event Center in San Jose, California to watch USA vs China.
Just sharing.
