China together with Japan can medal at the 2012 Olympics if they keep on getting stronger and become more consistent.
Watch Out World!
China surprised us with a great performance at the 2011 World Cup by finishing with a bronze medal and winning an Olympic ticket together with Italy and USA.
Since winning the gold medal at the 2004 Olympics, China struggled and went through a difficult transition period. They might have won the Olympic bronze in front of their fans but since then their performance as a team started to deteriorate.
Fast forward to today, the team is much stronger.
The past is all behind them now. Under the wings of their main players like Hui Ruoqui, Wei Quiyue and Wang Yimei, China is gearing up to win a medal at the upcoming Olympics in London.
Below is Coach Yu Juemin’s Preliminary Roster:
Setters:
Wei Qiuyue
Mi Yang
Opposites:
Zhang Lei
Chu Jinling
Zeng Chunlei
Outside Hitters:
Wang Yimei
Hui Ruoqi
Fan Linlin
Yang Jie
Middle Blockers:
Ma Yunwen
Xu Yunli
Yang Junjing
Liu Congcong
Liberos:
Zhang Xian
Shan Danna
In case you’re wondering whatever happened to their talented middle blocker, Xue Ming, she’s out of the team due to heart problems.
We hope their main players remain healthy and injury-free knowing that the Olympic Games is just 122 days away.
The team will go through a series of closed-door training sessions and a few friendly matches before competing at the 2012 World Grand Prix.
G-luck ladies!
