Paola Egonu & Squad Win Team Of The Year Award

Congratulations ladies and to their amazing coaching staff!!!

Paola Egonu, Miryam Sylla & Team have received one of Italy’s MOST prestigious media awards after being named as the TEAM OF THE YEAR at the annual The Gazzetta Sports Awards organized by Gazzetta dello Sport, one of the country’s top sports media companies.

Only Coach Mazzanti, Cristina Chirichella, Carlotta Cambi, Sylvia Nwakalor, Elena Pietrini and Marina Lubian were able to attend the ceremony. Star player and Woman Of The Year nominee Paola Egonu was not able to make it to the event due to another commitment.

Since winning the silver medal at the 2018 World Championship, Egonu, Bosetti and Team have made a lot of special appearances and have been feature by several news outlets in their country. One of the highlights was they were invited to meet with their president.

The Italian men’s team enjoyed the same success back in 2016 when they won the silver medal at the 2016 Olympics.
