Kim Resolves Issues

July 16th, 2012 UPDATE: One of the best news we’ve heard today!

2011/2012 Champions League gold medalist and MVP from Korea, Kim Yeon Koung, has officially renewed her contract with Fenerbahce for 2 more seasons. Despite all the contract issues (see report below), Fenerbahce was able to resolve the drama and the contract terms Kim’s former Korean club team was fighting for.

From Fenerbahce’s Camp in Turkish:

Voleybol Şubesinden Sorumlu Yöneticimiz Hakan Dinçay konuyla igili olarak. “Kulübümüz, Türk Sporuna hizmet verdiği 9 branşın her birinde olduğu  gibi voleybolda da her sezona ’Mutlak başarı’ parolası ile başlıyor. Takımlarımızın kadroları da bu bakış açısı çerçevesinde şekilleniyor. Kim Yeon, her maçta takıma biraz daha adapte olan bir oyuncu olarak geçen sezonun takıma en katkılı isimlerdendi. Sezonun bitişi ile birlikte birçok takımdan transfer teklifi aldı. Ancak Fenerbahçe’deki aile, arkadaşlık ve güven ortamı, başarıya olan bağlılık ve yaptığımız görüşmeler sonucunda Fenerbahçe’de kalmayı tercih etti ve sözleşmesini 2 yıl daha uzattı. Kim’in, gelecek sezon da takımımıza çok büyük katkıları olacağına inanıyoruz. Kendisine gerek Avrupa’da gerek Ligde şampiyonluk için mücadele edecek  takımımızda başarılar diliyorum. Önümüzdeki sezonun, taraftarlarımızın takımlarımızı her maçta desteklemeleri, yapılan transfer ve yatırımlar ile hem Fenerbahçe Grundig Erkek Voleybol Takımımız hem de Bayan Voleybol Takımımız için çok olumlu geçeceğine inanıyorum” diye konuştu.

Now, Kim can put this all behind her now as she prepares for the 2012 London Olympics which starts next week.

Kim’s managers are forcing her to play in either of the teams they select for her. She could return to Korea and play for Team Pink Spiders, or play in Azerbaijan for Azerrail Baku. If Kim fails to comply on where they want her to play this coming 2012/2012 season, they threatened to end her pro career.

That’s messed up!

Can’t they see it? Kim loves Turkey and it’s the perfect place for her to continue developing her skills. Our source also adds that Kim is prepared to change citizenship, not return to Korea, or take a one-season break, if necessary.

The final verdict of her case will be released sometime this week.

By the way, Kim’s Korean fans totally support her because they believe that these Korean club firms just suck the players’ blood and $$$.

On the legal side of this controversy, Kim has no choice but to follow the terms listed on her contract or else she’d suffer the consequences.

On the other hand, we hope this drama will not stressed her out when she plays in London for the 2012 Olympics.

One of the world’s best players doesn’t deserve this kind of headache.
