THE COUNTDOWN IS ON!!!
With Wilfredo Leon officially playing for Poland later this year, one of the world’s most successful coaches, Radostin Stoytchev, predicts that Poland is the team to beat starting in 2019 and up to the 2020 Olympics.
In a video post by Prawda Siatki, Coach Rado says:
“Wilfredo Leon is a volleyball player who makes a difference. He is able to win matches and I am not saying that he can win a match by himself but he is capable of doing it. Poland has Kurek who is back to playing great volleyball and then there’s Kubiak who is a very important player to the team. Poland also has talented young players like Jakub Kochanowski, Artur Szalpuk and Bartosz Bednorz. Add Leon to this team and that makes Poland the favorites to win everything.”
Leon is expected to represent Poland at the 2019 VNL but most likely at the 2019 European Championship.
Last July 2018, Leon started training with Poland and also had the chance to meet with Coach Heynen and his future teammates.
We almost forgot to mention that former Cuban player LEAL may also play for Brazil at the 2020 Olympics. There’s also a rumor that Robertlandy Simon is trying to get his Bulgarian citizenship so he can play for Bulgaria post 2020. Sadly, one of the world’s best players from Cuba, Osmany Juantorena, has retired from his national team duties with Italy. Os last played for Italy at the 2018 World Championship.
