The worst part of this news is that Kosheleva is most likely done for 2018.
Unfortunately, the injury she sustained almost a week ago during a club match is actually more serious than initially thought. The outside hitter will now have surgery due to a torn ACL in her right knee. With recovery at least 5 months or possibly longer, the 29 year old Russian volleyball star player will miss the inaugural edition of the FIVB’s Volleyball Nations League and most likely the World Championship in October.
“I have been re-MRI, and unfortunately the result is not joyful – the rupture of the cruciate ligament. The operation and the path to recovery are ahead.” -Kosheleva.
Her Turkish club team, Galatasaray, will now play in the bronze medal match of the Turkish League.
