With her experience worth over 2 decades, LIOUBOV SOKOLOVA is still valuable asset to any team.
That’s why we are crossing our fingers on her return to the Russian squad for the upcoming European Olympic Qualification in January 2016.
According to VolleyRussia, Coach Marichev has invited Lyuba.
“There is an invitation on Sokolova and the conversation was held. This is the case that the doors are always open for the player. Virtually all will depend on her solution. I will accept and understand all of her choice.”
In case you didn’t know, the last time she represented Russia was at the 2013 World Grand Champions Cup.
At the EOQT, only the winner advances to the 2016 Olympics. 2nd and 3rd ranked teams will have one more shot to fulfill their Olympic dreams at the World Olympic Qualification Tournament to be hosted by Japan in MAy 2016.
Russia is in a tough pool for the upcoming tournament.
If Russia qualifies for the Olympics and Sokolova will be in it, she will make history and become the ONLY volleyball player in the world to have played in 6 consecutive Olympics.
