We got teary eyed reading this post by Canadian player Kyla Richey about Canada’s heartbreaking fate in the ongoing Pan American Games her country is hosting.

A lot of us can relate to her post.

You want it so bad BUT it gets taken away from you.

not the result we have been working towards for the last couple months. not only did we come up short in our match vs. argentina yesterday finishing at 1-2 in pool play, but cuba upset dominican which bumped us down to fourth place. we will not have the opportunity to crossover with the usa like we thought and continue on to contend for a medal like we had planned. we are extremely disappointed to not have gone further in front of our home crowd. it may be one of the toughest losses i've ever had. however, one more game to prove ourselves. playing vs. peru on thursday at 1:30pm – looking to finish strong. | 🍁 |

After a 3-1 loss to Argentina last night we are out of medal contention. This wasn't the result we were hoping for but we grew and played hard. Thank you to all the amazing fans who supported us. We hope to see you in our final match vs Peru on Thursday. #panam2015 #volleyball

Despite the heartbreak, Kyla and Team are determined to win their classification match versus Peru later today.
