Join us in welcoming home the newly crowned 2015 FIVB World Cup champions, the U.S. Men’s National team, who just earned a berth to compete in Rio at the 2016 Olympic Games.
Family, friends and fans of USA Volleyball will be greeting members of the Championship Team at 11:05 a.m. TOMORROW, Sept. 24 at LAX. The U.S. Men won the World Cup on Wednesday in Japan which qualified them for the Olympic Games in Rio. Team USA trains in Anaheim, Calif., at the American Sports Center. Many of the athletes and staff either grew up or played college volleyball locally.
·2015 World Cup Best Setter Micah Christenson, a recent graduate and All-American from USC, has yet to play a professional match.
·U.S. Men’s Head Coach John Speraw is also the men’s head coach at UCLA, where he played middle blocker and helped the Bruins win two NCAA National Championships.
·U.S. Team Captain and 2008 Olympic Gold Medalist David Lee was an All-American at Long Beach State.
The team returns home tomorrow, Sept. 24, at 11:05 a.m. at LAX, United Flight 33. Those participating in the reception will meet the team at United Terminal 7’s International Arrivals Lobby. All are encouraged to where red, white and blue, bring signs and spread the word.
Let’s give the CHAMPIONS the warm welcome they deserve!!!
