UNOFFICIAL NEWS:
4 time Olympian & 2 time Olympic silver medalist Logan Tom Has Retired.
OH NO!
She’s only 33!!!
We know she can still play!!!
Rumor has it that one of the world’s best players and Volleywood’s Queen Of USA Volleyball has retired from volleyball and will now focus on a coaching job at Stanford University.
Logan, who last played in the Italian League this past season with Ornavasso, has NOT played with Team USA since the 2012 Olympics.
A source familiar with the news tells Volleywood:
“There’s still a chance she will come back and play with Team USA. She has so much experience and of course the skills to help Team USA achieve success between now and up to the 2016 Olympics. It’s kind of weird to watch Team USA without Logan who has played with the national team for almost 15 years.
If you remember, right after a disappointing 2004 Olympics with USA finishing 5th, she took a long break in 2005 and 2006. Logan then returned in 2007 and led her teammates to a silver medal at the 2008 Olympics. I won’t be surprised if Coach Karch Kiraly will convince her to return for the 2016 Olympics.
USA needs her.”
Seriously, we are NOT yet sold on this rumor until we read an official statement from USA Volleyball or from Logan herself.
Stay tuned…
FYI: Logan’s name does not appear on Team USA’s Roster for the upcoming FIVB Grand Prix.
