Are we going to see Sheilla Castro on the volleyball court in 2019?
There’s a possibility.
The 2 time Olympic champion recently shared a pic on her Instagram with a caption teasing her fans that she will most likely suit up again and play volleyball professionally.
Pq afinal não me aposentei ainda né? Feliz ano novo meu povo!!!
She is saying that she wants to spend 2019 as a mother and as an athlete. She also made it clear that she hasn’t retired so she is definitely planning on playing AGAIN!!!
In case you didn’t know, Sheilla last played for Brazil at the 2016 Olympics. Her last match for the national team ended with a broken heart for her and for Brazil after they lost their quarterfinal to China in a 5 sets.
After the Olympics, a lot of their superstar veterans left the national team like Sheilla, Fabiana Claudino and Jaqueline Carvalho.
Sheilla was very open to her fans saying she’d take time off to focus on her personal and family life with husband Brenno Blassioli. In November 2018, she and Brenno welcomed their twin daughters, Liz and Ninna.
At 35 years old and considered as one of the best opposite hitters of the sport, no doubt she can still play.
Let’s just and see if she ends up in Brazil or overseas.
