Boo!
We’ve learned that 2.3 million tickets for the 2012 Olympics went on sale this morning. Despite the July 3rd deadline, almost all tickets have been sold except for weightlifting, wrestling, boxing, canoe spint, football, judo, mountain biking and volleyball.
Ouch! Where’s the love London?
Knowing that volleyball will be at the largest venues and make up most of the remaining tickets, it has failed to entice the British crowd.
We felt like we just got slapped in the face!
Anyways, we’re still optimistic that volleyball tickets will sell out in the next couple of days (on or before the deadline), weeks and months (after the 2011 World Cup). Volleyball is not widely and highly publicized in the UK so we kind of expected this turn out. We hope volleyball fans from countries like Italy, Poland and Russia will start buying more tickets and maybe invite their friends to do the same thing.
If the Olympic Committee has lots some extra tickets, we’d be more than willing to email them our shipping address.
Side Dish: While indoor volleyball tickets are struggling to get sold, beach volleyball tickets are already sold out.
Have you purchased your volleyball ticket/s?
