A Letter From The IMG

It’s FROMSPORT.COM’s fault!  LOL!

Seriously…

We’re so sad we can NO longer post live links for the World Cup matches after receiving this letter from Trans World International, Inc. d/b/a IMG Sports Media. We’re left with no choice but to comply moving forward. We deeply respect and honor their rights as the sole and exclusive representatives of all media rights relating to FIVB Volleyball World Cup 2011.

UPDATE: The Laola FIVB TV link on the FIVB website has been REMOVED. FIVB TV doesn’t have the rights to show their own matches? Saddddddd.

Below is the list of countries & stations who can LEGALLY broadcast the World Cup Matches:

Read the letter below.

Dear Sirs

THIS MATTER REQUIRES YOUR IMMEDIATE ATTENTION

FIVB VOLLEYBALL WORLD CUP 2011 MATCHES

I am writing to you on behalf of Trans World International, Inc. d/b/a IMG Sports Media and its associated companies (“IMG Media”), the sole and exclusive representatives of all media rights relating to FIVB Volleyball World Cup 2011 in many countries and territories throughout the world, including all matches played in the FIVB Volleyball World Cup 2011 (“the Matches”).

Accordingly, no party may broadcast any of the Matches in any medium or in any format anywhere in the world without the consent of IMG Media or the FIVB, the beneficial owner of the rights.

However, it has come to our attention that websites in Russia have been broadcasting/streaming various Matches on a live basis. Such broadcasting/streaming is, of course, being effected without any licence or consent from IMG Media or the FIVB.

You have no legal or other right to host or stream the Matches and what you are doing is an illegal activity. This is a blatant infringement of IMG Media’s and/or the FIVB’s copyright and other intellectual property rights and you may find yourselves liable to face criminal and/or civil legal proceedings as a result.

You are hereby directed to desist and cease immediately from in any way making the Matches available to users of your website or technologies and you are hereby put on notice that we shall be monitoring websites throughout the world when Matches are played and, if there is any live streaming of the Matches or any Matches are available for users or visitors to such websites to access or view IMG Media, in conjunction with the FIVB, will bring formal legal proceedings against your company.

Please respond immediately by return email to me with your confirmation that you have complied with and you will continue to comply with this reasonable request.

Notwithstanding the above, IMG Media and FIVB hereby reserves all of its rights and remedies regarding this matter, both at law and in equity.

Yours faithfully,

MICHAEL SHORT
Solicitor

For and on behalf of IMG Media
