Not a good news at all.
2012 Olympic Champion, Maxim Mikhaylov, might not play for Russia at the 2013 CEV Men’s European Championship due a to shoulder injury.
“This is the most serious for Mikhaylov in recent years. After the club season ended, he started going to therapy for his shoulder. At the moment, it appears that it’s not working for him. Members of the coaching staff are getting desperate to make sure they find another alternative to help Maxim get in shape for the European Champs. Maxim’s last resort is to have surgery. If he does, then he will miss the tournament.” according to a source familiar with the situation.
“He decided to skip the World League to get better but it’s been a tough one for him. Let’s hope for the best.” ends the source.
Knowing the tournament is less than 3 months away, only time will tell.
