The Second Round of the Women’s World Championship begins Sunday with only 16 teams left and split into 2 pools – E and F.
Pool E has the Serbia, The Netherlands, Japan, Brazil, Germany, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and Mexico.
Pool F has Italy, USA, China, Russia, Thailand, Turkey, Azerbaijan and Bulgaria.
If you compare the 2 pools, Pool F is no doubt the Pool Of Death!!!
The top 3 teams from each pool will advance to the Final 6.
VOLLEYWOOD FINAL 6 PICKS:
Pool E:
Serbia – Boskovic and Mihajlovic are in great form. I just hope the ACL injury of Bojana Milenkovic will not affect their chances.
Brazil – Serbia demolished them in pool play but Coach ZRG has this magical way of bringing his team back to the top.
Japan – As much as I want The Netherlands to advance, it’d be great to have the hosts in the Final 6. They have improved a lot since day 1.
Pool F:
Italy – Winning against China in pool play has given this team the boost they need. Egonu is just amazing!!!
USA – The defending world champions may have not played their best against Russia and Thailand but this team knows how to win matches as as team.
China – Losing against Italy opened our eyes what China needs to work on. With Coach Lang Ping guiding the team, they will be in the Final 6.
