EXCITING!
With this new Olympic qualification format, World Champions Poland and France will play for 1 Olympic ticket this coming August. These 2 powerhouse teams are joined by Slovenia and Tunisia with Slovenia expected to give Poland and France a run for their money.
With Wilfredo Leon expected to play for Poland at this tournament, there is no doubt the Poles are highly favored to win the pool. Let’s just say Poland wins it, so what happens to the rest of the teams?
France and Slovenia both have another shot when they play at the Continental Olympic Qualification Tournament for Europe while Tunisia will compete at the African tournament. Both tourneys will be in early 2020.
As for the other pools, check it out below:
Pool A: Brazil, Egypt, Bulgaria, Puerto Rico
Pool B: USA, Belgium, Netherlands, Korea
Pool C: Italy, Serbia, Australia, Cameroon
Pool D: Poland, France, Slovenia, Tunisia
Pool E: Russia, Iran, Cuba, Mexico
Pool F: Canada, Argentina, Finland, China
By the looks of it, reigning Olympic Champpions Brazil seem to have the easiest pool followed by Pool E with Russia expected to win their group. Pool C and D are like the Pools Of Death while B and F look balanced. Belgium and The Netherlands will challenge USA for sure and the same goes for Canada and Argentina.
