So Adorable!
You’re about to see the World’s Best Baby Volleyball Player in action! Take note, the videos are also educational for parents out there.
Watch, Enjoy & Learn:
In this clip Diddy practices counting & learns a shape. I then show the building blocks I went through to teach him how to play the set shot. Diddy’s next task will be to learn to push the ball up. The secret to success is to keep very young children on task. You can see some of the things I do to achieve this by studying the clip.
Diddy has fun playing hide & seek. He then works on his volleyball technique. In this clip we highlight the spike. As in other sports I encourage Diddy to use both hands or both feet as appropriate. Please notice that the last spike played by Diddy in the clip was using his weaker (left) hand . Finally, Diddy relaxes after training & suggests another book to add to your reading list.
Diddy shows a demonstration of the serve, dig, set & spike which are the core skills in volleyball. As a PE teacher for some years these are skills I taught secondary school pupils (11 -18 year olds) as part of the national curriculum. Skills, even complex ones, can be taught to children of any age, even babies.
Bubbles are a fantastic teaching aid to get young children to play sport & Diddy had great fun in several clips popping the bubbles. This clip shows the progressions used to teach The Dig from scratch. Diddy took comfort from sitting in the goal & because of that I left him there as we practiced.
